What is a Miniature Bulldog?
Miniature bulldog is a small size dog like French bulldog or Pug or Boston terrier, but with wrinkled face and ears down as the original English bulldog.
Development methods of some Miniature bulldog breeders have been kept secret, but some breeders share their experiences and knowledge. There is a lot of controversy what is right and what is not. There are probably several different ways how breeders achieved the smaller size dog. Some by mixing full size English bulldog with French bulldog, Pug or Boston terrier. All these small breeds contributed to the small size of a new breed, but the classic face with wrinkles of the original bulldog was lost. So after several generation of this new breed breeders are going back to the original English bulldog to bring back the classic look. Others are trying to breed the smallest dogs of “full size bulldogs” in order to produce smaller size, but that doesn’t help with health problems original bulldogs have. And generally speaking you don’t use smallest runts of one breed to start another smaller breed.
The process of developing the perfect Miniature bulldog is still going on. It takes long time, dedication and lot of hard work to establish new breed without any future problems.
It is up to every single person to make their own decision why and for what reason they want the Miniature bulldog puppy. They are good watchdogs, but even more they are good and loyal companions, friendly and loving members of your family. Good with children and also with other animals.
Their weight should be between 20-40 lbs, but some get bigger when they get older. The height is approximately 12-14 inches and the length is between 17-24 inches.
Miniature bulldogs are generally healthy dogs and quite active compare to original full size English bulldogs. They live for 10 or more years. They are just perfect companions for people in apartments and small houses with small yards.
